The ELIXIR@UiO node is situated at the Department of Biosciences at the University of Oslo (UiO), where it is part of the Bioinformatics in Life Science (BiLS) community. ELIXIR@UiO and BiLS are both located in the Life Science Building.
ELIXIR@UiO offers services related to data management and analysis to researchers in the life sciences. We have a strong focus on bioinformatics and sensitive data within health, especially in cancer research. Among our tasks is the development of solutions for handling and analysing sensitive -omics data, also to support molecular precision diagnostics. Recently, ELIXIR@UiO has also taken a leading role in biodiversity data.
The ELIXIR@UiO node collaborates closely with the Oslo University Hospital and its Bioinformatics Core Facility (BCF). ELIXIR@UiO and BCF@OUS jointly operate UiO’s Bioinformatics Core Facility/ELIXIR helpdesk.
You can meet the ELIXIR Oslo team every other Tuesday at 10:00, when we attend BiLS Seminars. BCF@OUS hosts a research support drop-in session every Wednesday at 14:30 on Zoom.
