ELIXIR Norway’s All Hands Meeting 2026 brought together partners, stakeholders, and collaborators in Bergen for a series of engaging discussions on data sharing, infrastructure, and future priorities. The meeting was preceded by focused pre-meetings on FEGA, biodiversity, pathogen/microbiome, and data management, setting the stage for in-depth exchanges on secure data sharing, standards, and cross-domain collaboration. The main programme opened with welcome remarks from University of Bergen (UiB) Vice-Rector Kjell-Morten Myhr, followed by perspectives from Peter Maccallum. National stakeholders then outlined key developments and expectations for the Norwegian landscape, including contributions from Sigrid Gåseidnes (SIKT – Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research), Ragnhild Valen and Even Birkeland (Norwegian Institute of Public Health), and Christine Stansberg (Norwegian Trusted Research Environments, NORTRE). These contributions highlighted how ELIXIR Norway can support national priorities while connecting to major European initiatives such as 1+ Million Genomes (1+MG), the Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI), EOSC-ENTRUST, and the Pathogen Data Network. Through project presentations, unconference sessions, and interactive discussions, participants explored topics ranging from sensitive data infrastructures and cancer and pathogen research to artificial intelligence, training, and technological sovereignty. The meeting concluded with the development of concrete plans for 2026 across key themes—human data, biodiversity, pathogen/microbiome, and technical areas—further strengthening coordination within ELIXIR Norway and with European partners. The meeting also benefited from the active engagement of the Scientific Advisory Committee, including Jaap Heringa (ELIXIR-NL), Jacques van Helden (ELIXIR-FR), and Francesca De Leo (ELIXIR-IT), whose contributions enriched discussions throughout the event. ELIXIR Norway extends its sincere thanks to all participants, speakers, and organisers, and especially to Sushma-Nagaraja Grellscheid for her excellent leadership in delivering a highly engaging and forward-looking meeting.
